Roof & Gutter Heat Trace Channel - Flat
Channel flashings are designed to prevent ice build-up, icicles, or ice dams on the roof edge. It can be used with various roofing products such as asphalt shingles, aluminum, steel and even slate. Each 4' aluminum flashing is feathered and has a channel to accommodate the self-regulating heating cable.
The flashing is installed under the leading roof edge using screws, nails, or adhesives. The self-regulating heating cable is then installed within the channel and a cap secures it in place. Flashing can be used on low-pitched roofs, fascia, valleys, and drip edges. If a metal roof is present, the channel flashing should be ordered with a 6 mil urethane membrane factory installed directly onto the flashing to prevent galvanic oxidation between dissimilar metals.
Flat and angled channel flashings are available to suit different application requirements. In areas where channel flashings are not desired, the heating cable can simply be mounted with clips on the roof surface in the conventional serpentine configuration.
